Planning Department

Responsibilities

The Planning Department is responsible for providing staff support for the Planning Commission. The Planning Department staff helps provide changes to the zoning and subdivision codes, and helps prepare the City’s Comprehensive Development Plan.

Building permits are issued through the Department. The Department also answers the general public’s questions regarding zoning, setbacks, and other planning matters.

The Planning Commission/Board of Zoning Appeals meets on the third Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1941 E 61st Street N, Park City KS.

Notification in advance of meetings must be published in the official City Newspaper and mailed to surrounding property owners for cases to be considered by the Planning Commission/Board of Zoning appeals. For information on the filing deadlines for applications, contact City Hall at 316.744.2026.
