Park City Municipal Court
The Park City Municipal Court handles all alleged violations of City ordinances ranging from simple parking tickets to animal control and health ordinances to domestic violence cases. Court officials take this job very seriously as compliance with these ordinances help maintain a high quality of life in the City. Formal arraignments, trials, and pre-sentence investigations ensure that defendant's rights are protected through the legal process.
Several recent innovations have been introduced to the Court in the last few years, including traffic and criminal diversion programs and formal reporting probation for people convicted of serious offenses.
All persons attending court in session are expected to be dressed appropriately for the dignity and decorum of a court proceeding. All persons attending court should wear at a minimum, a shirt (or blouse, sweater, etc.), pants or skirt and shoes. Shorts, tank tops and swimwear are not deemed to be appropriate attire for court proceedings. Hats should be removed in the court room.
