1. Is there a Rental Property Ordinance in Park City?

Yes. All rental homes within the city limits must be licensed by the City of Park City.

2. How do I get a Rental Property Permit?

Contact Code Enforcement to obtain a Rental Application (an application can be printed by clicking the link below). Once the application process has been completed, Code Enforcement will conduct an inspection of the home for basic safety related items. Inspections are not conducted on appearance, but on the minimum Standard Housing Code. Rental Property Application

3. What type of items are checked by Code Enforcement during the Rental Inspection?

Code Enforcement will check furnaces and water heaters. Smoke detectors must be hard wired with a battery backup. Bathrooms are checked for ventilation either by ceiling vent or window. Traps under the kitchen & bathroom sinks, as well as a a means of egress from each bedroom are also checked. More information is available with the Rental Application link above.
